Sensorium Covers

Sensorium is collections of essays by Agnieszka Jelewska, studying relations between art, science, philosophy and human experience. For more info about its contents head over here (PL).

For this project I’ve prepared special algorithm (printed on the back of inside covers), that analyzed book content, and created map of correlations between words.

It’s always very interesting to see prints of designs created by computer programs, I hope to get more chances to do things like that in the future.

22.10.11 (Live at Galeria Miejska Arsenał)

Excerpts from live gig in Galeria Miejska Arsenał in Poznań organized by Cyklotronika. It was my first audiovisual concert, and I was playing with help of Jan Hoffmann (live video sampling).

Cyklotronika + Few Quiet People (Visualizations)

My friend Wojciech Morawski organises small local festival – Cyklotronika, and some time ago he came up with idea to make it more audiovisual. I’ve prepared minimalistic visualization for Few Quiet People Unquiet Event.

This visualization was made in max/msp, and uses live audio input that was grabbed from mixer. Main line was drawn using amplitude. Sound was then further analyzed, and different frequencies controlled multiple aspects of video processing.

You can see it running live, along with some great music in this two excerpts:

By A Haze (Reprise)

This is recording of live audio/video improvisation made using fragments of “By A Haze” that will be part of my upcoming album, and video samples provided by Jan Hoffmann.

More technical description:
I was improvising with samples in Ableton, and sending OSC messages using max4live plugins to patch in max/msp on Jan’s laptop that was handling video. Jan was choosing samples and working with few effects, rest of them were controlled by OSC messages. Both audio and video were recorded, and later glued together without any additional postprocessing.
